HOW TO PLAY
Two modes, one goal: know sports better than everyone else.
🔍
DEEP CUT
- Every day, 5 teams are picked — same 5 for everyone, all day.
- For each team, name the most obscure player you can think of who played for them.
- One pick per team. Type a real name and lock it in to move on.
- Don't recognize anyone on the roster? Skip the team instead of guessing blind.
- After all 5, see your score.
⚡
BLITZ
- 5 random teams — pick which sports to include before you start.
- Each team gets a 15-second clock. Name as many real players as you can before it runs out.
- Every correct name resets the clock back to 15s — keep it going as long as your memory holds up.
- Unlimited replays. Teams reshuffle every time.

SCORING
Every name you submit gets scored by how many other players also named that exact player, blended with an early estimate so brand-new players don't just show 1%.
Lower % is better.
It means fewer people knew who that was. In Deep Cut, your total score is the sum across all 5 picks, so the most obscure lineup wins. Skipping a team scores as if everyone knew the answer, so it's never a shortcut to a better score.
📚 Rosters cover roughly 1970–present — pre-1970 legends may be missing.
🏈 NFL rosters are skill positions only — QB, RB, WR, TE, FB.
